The Heart Of Paris Is Burning

Ginny and I will always cherish the memories we have of a morning spent at the Cathedral of Notre Dame on a visit to Paris back in 1979.

I remember praying quietly in one of the back pews of the church, climbing hundreds of stairsteps to the top of one of its towers, napping on a park bench in the church courtyard behind the cathedral just feet from one of its world-famous flying buttresses, having lunch in a restaurant famous for its French onion soup just across the street and much more.

Watching the cathedral burn today is nothing less than heartbreaking.
