Judge Joel

Had a great time emceeing Judge Joel Medd’s retirement party program yesterday.  The sixth floor of the Grand Forks County office building was jammed with his friends.

North Dakota Supreme Court Justice Gerald Vandewalle, former Lieutenant Governor Lloyd Omdahl, Father William Sherman were just of few of those singing–or rather–speaking his praises.

In a very nice ceremony, Boy Scout Troop 13 folded and presented Judge Medd with a flag that had flown over both the U.S. Capitol and the Grand Forks County Courthouse.

I’ve always considered Joel Medd to be one of the good guys.  It’s not a huge group.

As I said the yesterday, thank you my friend, for all you’ve done for the justice system and for our community.  Have a wonderful retirement.
