Brian Posehn: he’s the bearded/comic book nerd/metalhead comedian/writer/actor the world didn’t realize it needed. But now, as his career continues to chug along like a freight train, it’s becoming harder to imagine the world of comedy without him.

Posehn began his career writing and performing on the acclaimed HBO sketch comedy program “Mr. Show” with Bob Odenkirk (“Breaking Bad”) and David Cross (“Arrested Development”). He received a major boost as a co-star on Comedy Central’s popular show, “The Sarah Silverman Program,” and on tour as one of the original members of the “Comedians of Comedy” with Maria Bamford, Patton Oswalt, and Zach Galifianakis.

He has appeared in sitcoms such as “Just Shoot Me,” “Seinfeld,” “NewsRadio,” “Everybody Loves Raymond,” and “Friends,” as well as several movies, including “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer,” “Sex Drive,” and “Surf’s Up.”

Posehn was recently tapped to write a story line for Marvel’s “Deadpool” comic book and was a comedy headliner at Seattle’s Bumbershoot festival. He has released two albums of comedy, 2006’s “Live In: Nerd Rage” and 2010’s “Fart and Weiner Jokes.” Both albums have included music by his heavy metal group, Brian Posehn’s All-Star Band.
