Dear Robin

Dear Robin…

I read in the papers (and the television script they handed me this evening) that you’re going to be anchoring WDAY News @5 beginning Monday.

I think you’ll like it.  I’ve been anchoring WDAZ News @5 in Grand Forks for something like fifteen years now and it’s so much easier than a real job.

I read, too, that you’re going to be writing for The Forum.  That’s a newspaper, isn’t it?

I remember years ago when you were a young reporter in Grand Forks and I was… whatever I was.  I always thought you were a class act and I still do.

I know you’re used to working late.  But, believe me, 5 pm is perfect.  You don’t have to get up early.  And, you can still get home in time for a late happy hour.

I’ve always found WDAY/WDAZ to be like one big family… one big, dysfunctional family.  I’m kidding, of course.  (If you’re in management and you’re reading this…. I’m kidding!)

Anyway, if anybody there so much as looks at you funny, call me!

Just as I enjoyed working, however briefly, with your buddy Charley (I can’t think of his last name right now) I look forward to working with you, albeit from something of a distance.

Good to have you in the fold.  Here’s to lots of laughs in the days to come.

Hello Terry… Just saw this. Thanks for the fun and funny welcome! We both go back a ways, don’t we? So far, so good here at the Forum and WDAY!
