As usual, we had a great time at the Raise Your Paws for Pets benefit dinner and auction last night at the Alerus Center.  Just guessing, but it seems to me that quite a lot of money was raised for the Circle of Friends Humane Society in Grand Forks.  The Pigcasso went for two hundred bucks.  The Pigcasso is a painting done by “Squeeky” the pig, a resident of Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanabe, Utah.

Auctioneer extraordinaire Harley Camperud did his usual superb job.  I was asked to emcee.  (So, I did.)

Got to gossip with print people Milo Smith (now of UND fame) and the Herald’s other foodie Jeff Tiedeman.  Also, one of the KJ108 Big Dawgz.  As Bob Zany would say, the one with the big head.

There’s just something about the crowd the gathers for Raise Your Paws.  They seem to come to have a good time and, of course, to support a cause that is very dear to many of us, the Circle of Friends.

Looking forward to Raise Your Paws XII next spring.
