This Week

Had some great guests once again this week on News @5.  They just keep coming.

We chatted with singer Paulette Carlson.  She told us what it was like to leave Highway 101 at the height of their success.  And, she sang a tune from her latest album for us.  Unfortunately, Thursday’s Paulette Carlson Sunshine Fest concert in Grand Forks has been canceled.  But her “Evening with Paulette Carlson” meet and greet event for the fest Friday evening is still on.

We also talked with Frankie Avalon, an icon if there ever was one.  He told us about growing up in Philadelphia with the likes of Bobby Rydell, Chubby Checker, Eddy Fisher etc.  We also talked about the Malt Show Memories Cruise he’s a part of in October along with Dion, Bobby Rydell, Ronnie Spector, Darlene Love and many others.  I understand there’s at least one person in Grand Forks already thinking about booking it.  There’s an extended version of our conversation with Frankie Avalon at wdaz.com.

Then today we talked with a couple of this year’s Miss America contestants, Miss Florida Kristina Janolo and Miss Texas Kendall Morris.  You can see this year’s pageant on WDAZ tomorrow night beginning at 8 o’clock.

Todd Townsand showed us what’s hot at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, including a new “frame-less” LG flat screen TV I’ve been lusting after ever since.

All this and Greg Rixen, too!

It was a fun week.  Thanks for watching.  (If you weren’t watching, remember you’re not too old to change your viewing habits.
