Twenty (or so) Questions for Casey Wonnenberg

My new co-anchor Casey Wonnenberg and I have a week’s worth of WDAZ News @5 broadcasts under our collective belt now.  (That doesn’t sound right.)

Anyway, it seems like a good time to find out a little bit more about Casey. So, we posed some of the same questions we’ve put to the likes of sports guru Pat Sweeney, comedian Bob Zany and wine (beer & spirits) expert Greg Rixen.

TD:  Who’s your favorite actor?
CW:   Bradly Cooper. Mooah:)  I also love Sarah Jessica Parker though.

TD:  If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
CW:  My more vain side of myself would say my nose or my acne, but my better half would say to be a more Godly person.

TD:  What’s the biggest misconception about you?
CW:   People always say I look a lot taller in person than on the air.

TD:  What’s the name of the last book you read?
CW:  I usually stick more to magazines, but I did read “The Purpose Driven Life” from cover to cover a couple years ago.

TD:  What is your favorite food?
CW:  cheese, cheese, cheese

TD:  Do you have any tattoos?
CW:  No, I think they’re gross. No offense anyone.

TD:  What’s the name of your favorite movie?
CW:  “The Bodyguard”

TD:  What do you like to do in your spare time?
CW:  Exercise, clean, and hang out with family and friends. I’m good at time management though and will talk to my mom on the phone for an hour as I walk:)

TD:  Who’s your favorite singer?
CW:  I kind of have a unique mix of music favorites. My favorite singer (or group) would either by ACDC or John Rich (of Big and Rich).

TD:  Where would you most like to live?
CW:  Wherever I’m happy….but never too far away from my family. I’m really enjoying Grand Forks right now.

TD:  If you couldn’t do what you’re doing now, what job would you like to have?
CW:  I’ve always thought it would be fun to be a doctor.

TD:  Which historical figure do you most admire?
CW:  FDR. He never gave up and led “The Greatest Generation.”

TD:  What’s your favorite TV show?

CW:  I’m a little embarrassed to admit that I love “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” and some of “The Real Housewives” shows.

TD:  Who are your heroes?
CW:  My grandparents. They’ve worked hard their whole lives and are very unselfish.  I especially will always remember how my Grandma Wonnenberg took care of my Grandpa for around ten years as he struggled with Alzheimer’s disease. A lot of the time he couldn’t even remember her name, but she took care of him. When she absolutely could not anymore, she did not miss eating a meal with him at the Nursing Home.

TD:  If you could live in any other time, when would it be?
CW:  The Wild West. Woohoo! I probably would have died at a young age without Asthma medication though.

TD:  What are you most proud of?
CW:  Anchoring  WDAZ News at 5 with Terry. How is that for sucking up?

TD:  How did you meet your spouse?
CW:  My roommate “interviewed him as a potential third roommate.  It’s kind of a weird story.  I won’t go into details.

TD:  What do you dislike most in others?
CW:  pessimism…even though I have had that trait very strongly at times.

TD:  Where would you most like to go on vacation?
CW:  Rome.  I love history.

TD:  How would you like to be remembered?
CW:  As a nice optimistic person who always put others first.  It looks like I have have some work to do:)
