Local Hits

Thanks to Paulette Tobin for naming our “Great Conversation with Sam Anderson” one of the local hits in the Arts section of the Grand Forks Herald today. The event in October was one of the best I’ve ever had the pleasure to be a part of. No one at the University of North Dakota could possibly have been any nicer to us. And Sam Anderson is…. well… simply the best. Many of us have known for years what a fine actor Sam is. He is also the best story-teller I’ve ever known.

My daughter in Buffalo,NY was surfing the net and wondered if you were a relative of ours. We are the Nisswa, MN branch of the Dullum’s. Paul’s dad was Martin. Our son, Martin, also graduated from NDU. Paul’s grandfather was Herman. I think you are the Dickinson branch of the Dullum’s. Your mother stopped in to see Jim at the store in Nisswa many years ago. There is also another branch near Sauk Center, MN. I think everyone with the name Dullum is related. We would hear you on the radio, when our family did custom harvesting in the area. Just a tidbit of trivia Pat

Pat… I don’t know. Actually, my father’s family is from the Hillsboro, North Dakota, area. There were nineteen brothers and sisters. Yes, nineteen. So, it was always hard (especially as a kid) to keep my relatives straight. But, yes, we’re probably all related somehow.
