Looking back, we’ve had some really wonderful guests on WDAZ News @5 in 2009.  Among them, baseball great Steve Garvey and Grammy-winning singer/songwriter James Otto who performed an acoustic version of his hit "Just Got Started Lovin’ You" for us.  To date the clip of that performance has gotten more than 14,000 hits on YouTube.  Elmo and Grover from Sesame Street Live who performed a song and dance number in the studio.  Ashley Hewitt sang a song she wrote from the upcoming independent film she has a lead role in.  Magician Jack Sand performed and brought back memories of the "old days" of WDAY/WDAZ "weather-casting."

By satellite, we’ve talked this year with actress Patty Duke, Oscar historian Robert Osborne, SuperNanny Jo Frost, food and wine expert Ted Allen, actress Debi Mazar of "Entrouage" and "Dancing with the Stars, relationships expert Bob Berkowitz, Tom Kraeutler, the co-host of the syndicated radio program "The Money Pit" and AOL’s home improvement editor

In addition, comedian Bob Zany paid his annual visit to WDAZ News @5, complete with a Zany Report, Arlette Moen made several visits as usual, bringing along some furry guests from the Circle of Friends Humane Society and the crew from Texas Roadhouse in Grand Fork fired up the grill outside the studio, whipping up some killer steaks and ribs.
