Had a great time speaking to the staff of Villa Maria in Fargo yesterday as part of Nursing Home Week. Also got a chance to hear a few of their flood stories.
Just as a two-year, multi-million dollar renovation of the home was being completed this spring, the Red River began to rise and the facility’s 137 residents had to be evacuated.
Yesterday nearly 200 Villa staff members lined up to sign 19 thank you cards their residents made to send to the 19 area nursing homes that accepted Villa residents during the flooding.
Anway, the flood is over and now residents and staff can really enjoy the renovation. Thanks to Deb and Mike for the invitation and for the tour of the "new" Villa Maria.
