20 Questions For Ernie The Angler

My old friend Ernie the Angler is back with another season of WDAZ Northland Fishing Tackle Fishing Reports beginning Wednesday on WDAZ News @6 & 10.  Once again this year, they’ll be seen every Wednesday throughout the summer.

He’s so excited about fishing this time of year it’s difficult to get him to sit down long enough to do anything, much less answer our 20 Questions.  But, he did. And, here they are.

What is your most treasured possession?
My family.

Who would you most like to have lunch with?
The Pope.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
My nose.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Raising 3 great kids.

What makes you happy?
My grandkids, the lake and cooking.

Who are your favorite writers?
Mark Twain, Edgar Allen Poe and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.

Who is your favorite singer?
Johnny Cash.

Who are your heroes?

Who are your favorite actors or actresses?
John Candy, Walter Matheau and John Wayne.

If you were to die and come back as someone or something else, what would it be?
An elementary school teacher.

What is it that you most dislike in others?
People that judge.

What’s the name of the last book you read?
Waiting for White Horses by Nathan Jorgenson.

Who is your favorite fictional character?
Huck Finn.

Name one of your guilty pleasures.
Cooking gourmet type recipes.

What is your greatest regret?
Not being a teacher.

What is the name of your favorite movie?
Grumpy Old Men 1.

Where would you most like to live?
Our lake cabin – 24-7-365

What happens to you when you die?
If you go to heaven you are surround by everything that made you
happy when you were alive. If you go to hell the opposite is true. You
are surrounded by everything that made you sad.

    Ernie is one of my all time heroes.
    I played softball with Rob (aka Ernie) back in the 70’s. He was a helluva third baseman and a helluva guy.
