Summer is almost here, boys and girls, and you know what that means, don’t you? It’s time for us to pick our favorite trashy novels. (I always thought there should be a book club devoted to them. And no, Oprah’s doesn’t count.)

Here, let me start you off. Be Cool by Elmore Leonard, The Two Mrs. Grenvilles by Dominick Dunne and Peyton Place by Grace Metalius.

    I don’t know about trashy, but I really enjoy a few “literary”–

    try “Winter in the Blood” by James Welch, “How the Garcia Girls Lost Their Accents” by Julia Alvarez and “Blindness” by Jose Saramago.
