Born Standing Up

Finally finished reading (WDAZ Production Manager Mike Derman’s copy of) Steve Martin’s Born Standing Up: A Comic’s Life. It’s a really interesting backstage look at his life as a comedian, from his first jobs at Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm (not too bad to begin with) to the huge stadiums he played in the 70’s before giving up stand-up for good. I’m guessing one of Steve Martin’s next books will be about his equally interesting movie career. Then, he could write about his third career as an author, having written books, plays and The New Yorker articles, no less.
